Foster Harris House

Well, upon arrival, our host (Gisele) immediately upgraded us to a more comfortable room. Then she provided us with an IPhone to use as cell coverage in the are can be problematic. On top of that, she recommended places to visit, and HOME Made cookies. But the best part was the BREAKFAST. Klaus makes the best ginger scones, and if you are nice to him, he will give you the recipe. Great breakfast, lovely rooms, and scones that are worth the visit by itself. 5 stars, but we would be more than happy to rate this establishment as 10 stars.

We escaped the craziness of Northern Virginia with lifelong friends for a quiet weekend at the Foster Harris House. We have stayed there before as the accommodations are immaculate, food delicious, and the host, Klaus Peters always extraordinary. We truly enjoyed our time at the FHH and took ample advantage of the great scenery in the area as well as its culinary and wines delights. Tula's on Main and the Houndstooth at Glen Gordon Manor are highly recommended for memorable evenings with fabulous food. Even while staying busy, we had plenty of quiet time at the FHH enjoying food and wine we brought with us. Klaus was always available to accommodate any need and offer interesting stories about his fascinating life in the hotel industry before he settled in the quaint town of Washington. Thanks to Klaus it was a perfect weekend and we're already planning for our next stay!

We spent the night and wished we could extend our stay! From the cozy feel of the Inn, the location, the great mattress and shower, to the fabulous breakfast, it was perfection! Most memorable however was the wonderful, warm hospitality of Klaus! His gracious manner and sense of humor made us feel like he was an old friend not just our host. We definitely would stay again and recommend The Foster Harris House!

Great historic house. Beautiful views Room was nicely appointed and sparkling clean. The breakfast was amazing. The innkeeper and his assistant were charming. The price was more than reasonable. My wife and I look forward to next stay at the Foster House. Thank You Klaus for making our anniversary stay special
